water in food service, beverage and dairy industries.

UF water purifier is a brand of water treatment products by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. UF is a patented technology that provides disinfection with ultraviolet light in an environmentally friendly way, and is also cost-effective (one ounce of UF can disinfect up to 3,000 gallons).

The advantage of this technology for your home or business is that it does not require chemicals or electricity to operate. It does not harm human skin or the environment when applied directly to the source. In addition, because UV light penetrates about half a centimeter into the surface material, it kills microorganisms present where there are no traces on the surface such as in wells.

UF systems are currently used in more than 50% of the municipal drinking water systems in the United States, including New York City and Los Angeles.

There are many types of UF water purifiers, including sink-side, countertop and under-counter models for homes. It is also available for industrial use to disinfection of process

UV light is produced by UF systems continuously through a quartz tubular lamp (Cobalt 60). This UV light sterilizes the water as it passes through a special quartz media filter. The UF system will perform at or above established standards when compared with conventional chlorinating methods. This is the technology behind the "Good to Know" icon that is displayed on every UF product.

UF systems come in both point-of-use (point-of-service) and full system models. Point-of-use systems are for individual water faucets and appliances. Full system models include a filtration system that disinfects the whole house or business, such as restaurants, hotels, schools and healthcare facilities. When used in point-of-service models, UF points of service can prevent cross contamination by providing warning signals when there is water contamination (pH below 6.5 or above 8).

UF systems are used in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, restaurants and hotels to disinfect water for drinking fountains, ice machines and kitchen appliances.

UF is also used in agricultural and food manufacturing facilities to ensure quality of water used in irrigation. It is also used in the dairy industry to provide a high level of microbiological protection from waterborne bacteria that can contaminate milk or other beverages that use raw milk as an ingredient (such as smoothies).

The UF process helps improve the overall safety of rental properties by providing a sanitary water environment for tenants. This helps minimize mold growth, which can cause respiratory issues, allergies and other health problems.

In addition, it improves the aesthetic quality of a property by providing a quiet, reliable and efficient means to disinfect water used for showering and bathing.

UF water purifiers perform well with normal household use. The UF process is safe for consumers and the environment, with no chemical residue or water taste.

About UF Certified drinking water systems – Water Security Act (WSA) defined the standards which must be met to certify an initial or ongoing certification of UF system. WSA was enacted into law in 1996 by Congress to ensure that water system operators meet certain standards in order to protect public health as specified in the Safe Drinking Water Act.
